Michigan State doesn’t need to worry about the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Sure, Florida State will be a great team and they need to prepare for the Seminoles; but they’re getting the challenge right off the bat. Who plays the ACC’s big two back-to-back? The bitter rivals but traditional powers North Carolina and Duke in back to back games, and to start the season no less? Tom Izzo that’s who.

The Spartans return only 38% of their scoring, 48% of their rebounding, and 44% of their from last year, but this is no rebuilding season. No time for that with a schedule like this.

Duke (2-0) faces Michigan State (0-1) on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in the first game of the Champions Challenge. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (EST)

Big 10-ACC Challenge Schedule Officially Out: MSU-Duke Headlines

Duke, the 2010 National Champions, welcome Final Four participant Michigan State to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Dec. 1 in the premier matchup of the 12th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge Presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. The ACC/Big Ten Challenge will run from Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 with all 11 games being shown on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3.com

The Blue Devils return first team All-America candidates Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith along with seven other letterwinners, including Miles Plumlee, Mason Plumlee, Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly and Andre Dawkins, for the 2010-11 season. Duke also welcomes a top 5 recruiting class featuring Kyrie Irving, Josh Hairston, Carrick Felix and Tyler Thornton.

Big Ten-ACC Challenge for 2010 Announced

Last year the Big Ten FINALLY won the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The match-ups for next winter, when the Midwestern conference goes for consecutive victories, are now out of the bag. The official word on the lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but what can I say? I know a guy who knows a guy.

Michigan State will travel to Duke and face the defending national champions in what could be the most hyped match-up of the season. The two Final Four teams from last month will no doubt he considered 1a. and 1b. when the season opens up next November.
