January 6, 2012 By Jeff Trudeau

univ south florida cheerleaders

It was a bizarre Thursday night in the Big East as Pitt was upset at DePaul while Villanova got smoked by 17 at home against South Florida.  With the Panthers and Wildcats reeling to start conference play, there is some shake-up in our latest Big East Basketball Power Rankings. … [Read more...] about 2011-2012 Big East Basketball Power Rankings

2011-2012 Big East Basketball Power Rankings

December 30, 2011 By Jeff Trudeau

syracuse-orange

Last year, the Big East made history by sending 11 teams to the NCAA Tournament.  The depth of the conference was clear and obvious when a UConn team that finished with a 9-9 mark in Big East play cut down the nets.  With the league possibly entering the final year before Syracuse, Pitt, and West Virginia selfishly bolt for greener pastures (screw you, college football), the … [Read more...] about 2011-2012 Big East Basketball Power Rankings

Duke Blue Devils, 903 and Mike Krzyzewski: Class Acts

November 17, 2011 By paulmbanks

In 1990, I was a grade-school student who loved sports, and had many teams. However, when it came to college basketball, I was at a loss. I grew up in Chicago. In two of the last three years, DePaul has won four of their first five. So very early season success is nothing new to them. It's the Big East conference games where the trouble starts. But January 1 versus Syracuse can wait for now, as the Blue Demons rolled past the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (Yes, Blue Demons versus Delta Devils, Satan no doubt loves the … [Read more...] about DePaul Blue Demons off to 2-0 Start

October 28, 2011 By Jeff Trudeau

Any chance that Oliver Purnell's re-building project at DePaul would take effect this season has been severely hampered due to the loss of two players to injury and one freshman being ruled ineligible.  And yesterday that freshman withdrew so he won't be available for 2012-23 now either.
