2011 CBE Classic Preview and Predictions: Notre Dame Champion?

tim abromaitis notre dame

The 2011 CBE Classic lacks the star power compared to last year’s field of Duke, Marquette, Gonzaga, and Kansas State.  The return of Tim Abromaitis could give Notre Dame the edge but Cal and Missouri have just as good a chance to win the tournament especially Mizzou since the games are being played in Kansas City.  Here are my predictions for how the two-day event will unfold:

College Hoops 101 (11/8/10)

To quote Bob Costas in Baseketball, “You’re excited?  Feel these nipples!”  That pretty much sums up my level of excitement with the first college basketball games of the 2010-2011 season being televised this evening.  As my girlfriend recently conceded, “See you in March.”

If you are unfamiliar with College Hoops 101, it is a weekly feature here at The Sports Bank that runs every Monday and breaks down everything you need to know going on in the world of college hoops.  I will look back at the previous week and peak ahead to some of the key match-ups in the next seven days.  Be sure to check back later this week for my first Field of 68 (aka Bracketology) in which I predict the NCAA Tournament brackets.

This article was conceived two years ago when a friend challenged me to watch 225 games in one season.  It has evolved into a passion, an obsession, a lifestyle that is truly out of control.  People think I am crazy for having watched more than 602 games the past two years.  I prefer the term, “committed.”
