Wisconsin is going back to Cali for a third straight Rose Bowl

With credit to the late Notorious B.I.G., the Wisconsin Badgers are going, going, back, back to Cali after demolishing the Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-31 in the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The 70 points the Badgers (8-5) scored are tied for the second most in the modern era in school-history and tied for the most ever in a conference championship game (Texas had 70 in 2005).

UW’s three-headed monster is back and fiercer than ever as Montee Ball, James White and Melvin Gordon combined for 539 yards rushing and nine total touchdowns.

Overtime is unkind to the Wisconsin Badgers, lose 24-21 at Penn State

Overtime has been unkind to the Wisconsin Badgers who have lost three overtime games in the past four weeks. Moreover, the Badgers (7-5, 4-4) last nine losses are by a touchdown or less.

Penn State fought back from a first-half deficit to beat Wisconsin, 24-21, in what was their last game of the season.

The Badgers only real highlight of the day was Montee Ball breaking the NCAA all-time touchdown record.

Wisconsin stomps into a Big Ten Championshp birth with 62-14 win over Indiana

The rest of the Leaders Division will have to wait another year because the Wisconsin Badgers will be the Leaders’ representative in the Big Ten Championship for the second straight year after a 62-14 win against Indiana at Memorial Stadium.

Last season was the inaugural year for the Championship in Indianapolis, so make it 2-for-2 for the Badgers (7-3, 4-2).

It’s gotten to the point where the Hoosiers (4-6, 2-3) dread playing the Badgers as they’ve been outscored 204-41 in their last three games against Wisconsin. Not only that, but the Badgers racked up a school-record 566 rushing yards in the win.

Wisconsin Badgers loss stings but not a season-ender

A shot at the National Championship Game is off the table, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Wisconsin Badgers season is over.

Yes, they were outplayed in every facet of the game in a 10-7 loss to the Oregon State Beavers.

Bad play on the road is nothing new for the Badgers. Even Russell Wilson couldn’t save them from going 2-2 in true road games last season, including a game where they struggled to beat an Illinois team clearly not on the same level as them.

It might sound counter-intuitive, but there’s still a lot to like about this Badgers team. [Read more…]
