Preseason All-America Hoops Team Released; Buckeyes Sullinger Only Unanimous Choice

The Big Ten conference as a whole may take a step backward this college basketball season, but their star power will remain high this hoops season. The AP All-American preseason first team was released a few short hours ago, and the league made a very tremendous impact on that very short list.

Ohio State‘s Jared Sullinger was the only unanimous choice of the 65-member national media panel. The Badgers Jordan Taylor is the only senior.

Harrison Barnes of North Carolina, Terrence Jones of Kentucky and Jeremy Lamb of Connecticut, three sophomores, round out the rest of the team.

Your Preseason All-American Kicker? Purdue Boilermakers Carson Wiggs

The Purdue Boilermakers aren’t exactly poised to have a banner college football season. They lost the guy that might have been the starting quarterback in Rob Henry, and I will consider their fanbase very lucky if they actually get to see a bowl bid.

But they do have “everybody’s all-american”…… at the placekicker position, in Carson Wiggs.

Evan Turner Headlines my USBWA Ballot

My first ever United States Basketball Writers Association ballot! Which includes voting for an all-district team (the Upper Midwest of course!), All-American team, national freshman of the year, coach of the year, and player of the year. In addition, the ballot includes player and coach of the year, for the district. Remember college basketball is bigger than Jesus to me, so here’s the list of who I tried to help canonize this winter.
