Legendary former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw is now a beloved Fox Sports analyst. Bradshaw won some Super Bowls, so this day is usually very sweet for him. Sadly, this Super Bowl will be devastating for Terry Bradshaw.
His workmates at Fox Sports released this following statement on the death William “Bill” Marvin Bradshaw, father of Terry Bradshaw. It also explains who will take Terry Bradshaw’s place on assignment today, and how the domino effect of other Fox Sports personalities being shifted to other assignments today as Fox broadcasts Super Bowl XLVII, the biggest day of the NFL season.
It is with deep regret that we announce that Terry Bradshaw’s father, William “Bill” Marvin Bradshaw, passed away on Thursday after a long illness. He was 86.
On behalf of everyone at FOX Sports, we want to extend our deepest sympathy to Terry, his mother Novis, brothers Gary and Craig and the entire Bradshaw family. All are in our thoughts and prayers today, and we respect their wishes for privacy during this very difficult time.
Terry is with his mother and family in Louisiana, and understandably will not appear on FOX Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII today. Michael Strahan, who was originally assigned to FOX Sports’ Super Bowl Red Carpet coverage, assumes Terry’s position on the pregame show with Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Jay Glazer, and handles FOX Sports’ postgame trophy presentation coverage. FOX Sports’ Chris Myers assumes Strahan’s role with Charissa Thompson on the Red Carpet.
