“Say hello to Ric Flair,” one of my friends said to me the one and only time I went to Charlotte. (I don’t need to go back) Yes, Ric Flair, a 64-year-old retired wrestler, the “Nature Boy,” is synonymous with the “Queen City.” And yet the people of Charlotte are treating Ric Flair this way. AWFUL.
Ric Flair may have mastered the figure four leg-lock, but he won’t be able to attend the NFC Divisional playoff game in Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend because Carolina Panthers “fans” have sent him too many death threats. And why are they sending Ric Flair death threats?
Because he gave a pep talk to the San Francisco 49ers last week before their playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. He was just a little too friendly with the enemy at a time when they weren’t even the enemy yet. Good job, good effort Panthers fans. And might I add “‘Merica” on this one.
Apparently, the Panthers fan base doesn’t like the fact that Ric Flair did his pump dance and sound effects bit that’s supposed to be the celebration routine for the hometown team and the hometown team only. King George III was right when he said that Charlotte was a “Hornet’s Nest.”
