The latest NFL season is officially underway. Sure, it’s only been two measly games, but hey, why not drop some way-too-early predictions about what lays ahead? That’s what this article is exactly about and we’re not wasting any time, here’s our bold claims for the remaining season:
NFL Super Bowl Matchup
Everyone and their mother loves making NFL Super Bowl picks, whether it’s the preseason, now, or playoff time. We’re no different and we envision the “big game” being a Los Angeles-Kansas City matchup.

Ironically, the title game is being hosted by Los Angeles in 2022 and if the Rams indeed make it all the way, that’ll be the second straight time the Super Bowl will be a “home” game for one of the teams. It was for Tampa last year against these same Chiefs and we all know how that went.
We’re picking LA-KC to represent because they’re both extremely well-coached and have a deep reservoir of offensive playmakers. The saying “defense wins championship” is a relic of a time gone past because in today’s NFL, you need to score first to win. And let us tell you, both these teams can put up points with the best of ‘em.
If we had to go one step further and pick a winner, it would be the Rams. Its defense — which ranked No. 1 in 2020 — can at least contain Mahomes somewhat. That’ll be the difference-maker in the Super Bowl.
The Raiders Win A Playoff Game
This franchise hasn’t won a postseason matchup since 2002 — also the last time it made a Super Bowl, losing to a team coached by its current coach, Jon Gruden. However, that dry spell will come to a crashing halt this season once and for all.
Few teams have been more impressive than Las Vegas thus far. They outlasted Baltimore in week one (who just topped Kansas City), then went on the road to pound Pittsburgh this past weekend. Stunningly, the Raiders are winning with high-flying offense AND defense.
We need to spotlight Derek Carr, however. He’s in a make-it-or-break-it season with the Raiders. No more guaranteed money is owed to him after the season and you can see the fire he’s currently playing with. After two games, Carr has thrown 817 yards and four scores. We believe Carr guides Las Vegas deep into the postseason.

New York Jets Earn The First Overall Pick
Second overall pick in the 2021 Draft Zach Wilson is off to one of the most ugly rookie starts in recent memory. Maybe it’s because he’s playing in a huge media market, but Wilson’s struggles are evident to everyone. He’s thrown five interceptions in two games with only 486 passing yards and two touchdowns to counter it.
But is anyone really surprised? After a miserable failure with fake “quarterback whisperer” Adam Gase, the organization went the opposite direction when it hired Robert Saleh to be its next head coach. Saleh is defensive-minded and not exactly an offensive savant.
We don’t know about you, but pairing a prized rookie quarterback from a mid-major program and an unproven defensive head coach doesn’t sound like a winning formula. This mismatch duo should have the Jets drafting first overall come April 2022.
Russell Wilson Will Be The League MVP
Wilson and the Seahawks organization were reportedly at “odds end” this offseason. In fact, Wilson reportedly wanted to be traded — rumors that continue to swirl.
However, this sounds like the exact script from last year’s MVP winner, Aaron Rodgers. A year ago, Rodgers and the Packers were heading for a split, according to most. Did that cause a distraction? No, the opposite actually. Rodgers had the best season of his brilliant career. Though, the two are still reportedly mad at one another.
Nevertheless, that incident lit a fire under a fierce competitor like Rodgers. We envision a similar outcome for the uber competitive Wilson. After two games, there’s already evidence of just that. Wilson has six touchdowns to zero interceptions so far. Look for him to keep racking up numbers on the way to his first-ever MVP campaign.
