Five NFL teams that Improved the most this offseason

This NFL offseason has been the best in recent memory. With many big name young players, and amazing veterans on the market, combined with the biggest draft in years, there have been many changes. Let’s take a look at the top 5 most improved NFL teams for 2014.

Houston Texans

Sure, the Texans did not get the quarterback that they needed; however, defense wins championships and they filled their defensive void quite well. The Texans filled a lot of holes during the offseason and the draft, but the main improvement for the team will be seen in their pass rush. By drafting DE Jadeveon CLowney, the Texans have the best pass rush the league. Clowney has the ability to break through offensive lines better than any player to recently come out of college, and he is one of the most dangerous players to ever come out of the draft. Next season, Clowney will play alongside JJ Watt, and together, they will be the most intimidating tandem in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are heading in a very clear direction. With Michael Vick gone, the team will no longer be a running first team. Nick Foles has the potential to be a great quarterback, and he is already one of the most accurate passers in the game. Many see the signing of backup QB Mark Sanchez to be stupid; however, it makes perfect sense. Sanchez was great on the Jets for two seasons; however, he started to struggle when the team moved towards the read option because he is not a mobile quarterback. He will be just fine in a pocket offense. The biggest hole to fill was the loss of DeSean Jackson. By signing WR Jordan Matthews, who already looks better than Jackson, this should be no issue.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars solidified their future by signing QB Blake Bortles. Without MJD, the Jags can finally drop the running game idea that has failed them for years and actually focus on the pass. With WR Blackmon and Bortles together, there should be no doubt that the Jags are very much improved. Consistently, one of the worst NFL teams over recent years, they are finally looking upward this season.

New England Patriots

For years, the biggest issue for the Patriots has been defense. This problem has finally be solved. With the additions of CB Brandon Browner, CB Darrelle Revis, and DE Will Smith, the team has improved their defense on every single level. Next season, the Patriots will not be the team to give up 300 passing yards per game. Get ready for a great year.

Denver Broncos

Just when everyone thought that the Broncos could not get any better, they signed some of the best players in the game. With newly added defensive players DE DeMarcus Ware and CB Aqib Talib, the already amazing Broncos defense looks even better. Also by replacing WR Eric Decker with WR Emmanuel Sanders, the Broncos added the best WR free agent on the market. They are looking like the best team in the NFL. Fitting, since they are typically among the best NFL teams year in and year out.
