As of the morning after Election Day, the Oregon gubernatorial race between Republican Chris Dudley, and Democrat John Kitzhaber is still too close to call. You recall the name Chris Dudley, right? He played 16 years and 886 games in the NBA for five different teams: Cleveland Cavaliers (1988-1990) New Jersey Nets (1990-1993)
Portland Trail Blazers (1994-1997, 2002-2003) New York Knicks (1998-2000) Phoenix Suns (2000-2001)
He played his college basketball at Yale University, where he earned degrees in political science and economics. And he once shot .319 from the charity stripe during one of his professional seasons.
Dudley comes from a family of blue-blood connections. His paternal grandfather was Guilford Dudley, U.S. ambassador to Denmark under the Nixon and Ford presidential administrations. He also has friends with a lot of juice these days, as one of his primary campaign contributors was Nike Emperor Phil Knight.
