Nicole Scherzinger, lead singer/former lead singer of the PussyCat Dolls, a “girl group” who were popular long before Pussy Riot (but didn’t emerge until long after the James Bond film “Octopussy”) reprised her breakout hit this morning. And it was an ode to Manchester United striker and Netherlands captain Robin van Persie.
Scherzinger did a version of “Don’t Cha,” the 2006 song that put PCD, and Nicole Scherzinger herself, on the map back in 2006.
She performed it (“don’t cha with your striker was RVP?”) on on radio station Key 103 today, with Host Andy Catterall filling in for the Busta Rhymes role. Enjoy the video below:
Full lyrics:
Cheer up Mancini (cheer up Mancini)
Arsene Wenger too (Arsene Wenger too)
You don’t have anybody doing these things that this lad can do
He’s the Flying Dutchman (Flying Dutchman)
It’s easy to see (easy to see)
He scores when he wants, when he wants, and sometimes it’s three.
Great job Nicole Scherzinger!
