Radamel Falcao set the futbol Twitterverse ablaze today with a very arcane, but extremely defensive tweet. Falcao doesn’t call out any one outlet or journalist by name, but he’s likely reacting to recent reports about his calf injury, fitness regarding his knee and his long-term future at Manchester United. There’s been lots of speculation about whether or not his current loan deal will be come a permanent arrangement.
Falcao has said that he wishes to stay in Old Trafford, but there’s been news stories claiming that United may not be all that interested in that kind of contract. Obviously, his knee, and his overall fitness will impact whether or not he is offered a place with United beyond this season. Falcao is understandably defensive right now and he appears to have taken exception to how his status has been reported.
He wrote on his official Twitter account earlier today: “One fool speculates. A few others lacking objectivity respond and millions believe lies. It is disastrous what a few fools can do.”
