The home of Manchester United, Old Trafford, was revealed to be the fourth most profitable ground in all of Europe. Consulting firm Deloitte ranked the stadiums in order of the revenue that they generated in the 2014/15 season. Here’s the write-up for Old Trafford via TeamTalk.com:

The Red Devils have been tenants of Old Trafford all the way back to when construction was completed in 1910. The capacity is simply massive at more than 75,000 following several expansions, and there are more planned. Nicknamed “The Theatre of Dreams,” Old Trafford has hosted finals in several different sports.

United have turned down extremely lucrative offers to rename Old Trafford with a corporate brand. For some sports franchises it makes sense to sell out the stadium name, but for United it certainly does not. Here’s a piece from CCTV explaining why in more detail.

The English Premier League dominated the list with Arsenal (The Emirates) #1, Chelsea (Stamford Bridge) #5, Liverpool (Anfield) #8 and Manchester City (Etihad) #9. Thus the EPL comprised half the top ten.
