Mats Zuccarello took Olympic hockey by storm with Team Norway in 2010. The diminutive forward helped Team Norway hockey play some of the World’s best teams at a surprisingly high level. While Norway is a far cry away from the medal podium, they could ruin the tournament for a team or two.
Forwards
Zuccarello and former NHLer Patrick Thoresen lead a group of relative unknowns looking to build off of 2010. The majority of the forwards play in Sweden and Russia.
Defense
Former NHL blueliners Jonas Holos and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen lead the mediocre bunch. Holos averaged 28:56 minutes per game in the 2010 Olympics and Tollefsen uses his size to his advantage.
Goaltending
Lars Haugen is the projected starter for the Norwegians. He currently tends the net for Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.
Group B opponents
Finland, Canada, Austria
Projected group finish
3rd– 2 points
