Vancouver Canucks goaltender and Borat lookalike Roberto Luongo gave up an extremely embarrassing “own goal.” And it was a shorty too! Actually this might be one of the worst or strangest own goals I’ve ever seen. I really don’t know what happened to Roberto Luongo here.

So here’s what happened to the Vancouver Canucks and Roberto Luongo on this power play. Well, sort of. Here’s the gist of it. Roberto Luongo took the puck after it was cleared beyond his own net. Luongo advanced the puck to Jason Garrison, who left it for Dan Hamhuis, who lost it, and it somehow ended up in the goalie’s crease.
Roberto Luongo was understandably facing the other way, as he figured the puck was already headed forward. Instead it deflected off his skates, and then went into the back of the net, putting the Montreal Canadiens up 2-1. They went on to beat the Canucks 4-1.
The goal was credited to Lars Eller, since he was the last member of the opposing team to touch the puck.
