Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Michy Batshuayi, who has scored 15 goals in 34 league games for a pretty bad Marseille club this season. Spurs will face competition for Batshuayi, as he’s also attracting interest from Liverpool and West Ham United.
Now today Spurs Boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Spurs have been paying a lot of special attention to the 22-year-old, telling RMC:
“We are looking for a striker this summer. Batshuayi is a young player who has a lot of talent. He is logically followed by many clubs.”
“We have information about him, he has good potential. Then we will see, we also have other players in our sights,” the Premier League Manager of the month for both September and February continued.
Previous reports have suggested that Batshuayi will prioritize the idea of signing with a club that will be playing Champions League football next season. Spurs have about a 99% chance of playing in Europe’s championship next season.
Although they won’t win the title, Spurs will reach the top four, and that makes it a year in which Pochettino has greatly exceeded even the most optimistic of expectations. You have to think Batshuayi will take notice.
