Being the face of the franchise at Tottenham Hotspur, that’s Harry Kane‘s dream job. He told The Guardian this May that he sees himself being at Spurs “for a very long time” and is fiercely determined to win trophies at his boyhood club. Yet the Harry Kane transfer rumors continue to persist.
In the summer it was Manchester United. That narrative has again returned, and this time it’s with a twist (dependent on Jose Mourinho replacing Louis van Gaal this summer)
Tottenham flat out told United that Harry Kane is not for sale; not at any price. In December, we saw rumors linking Kane to Chelsea, as well as the Daily Express claiming Spurs will give their young star striker a huge pay raise in order to keep him at the Lane, as they wrote:
“Tottenham are reportedly willing to offer Harry Kane a new contract, and double his wages to £70,000 ($105,000) a week, to ward off interest from Manchester United.”
Today, Kane scored just 43 seconds into Spurs match home match against AFC Bournemouth, and then again 16 minutes in on an assist from Dele Alli. Here is video of the goals, as well as some of the better Twitter reactions, as Harry Kane is a top ten trending term right now.
He became the first Premier League player to reach 20 goals scored this season, and he did it in the same amount of games (31) as he did last year.
