Newcastle United suffered injury, on top of insult, during Monday night’s 4-1 loss at Leeds United. After the League Cup exit, new injury concerns arose, in the form of Jacob Ramsey, Anthony Elanga and Nico Gonzalez. Ramsey missed out entirely with a thigh injury while Gonzalez was forced off, due to a concussion.
Meanwhile Elanga also missed out, with an injury that is unspecified, but sounds pretty serious, as he was already ruled out for the upcoming international break.

What Did Newcastle Manager Mattias Jaissle About His Injury Situation?
Jaissle spoke on the injury situations involving Ramsey and Elanga in his postmatch press conference on Tuesday. On the former, he said:
“Unfortunately, JJ was unable to play today. He felt his thigh in the warm-up, so that was also a reason why there were not too many alternatives for that position. So, in general, we trust our young lads, but today we also saw that the lads need time.”
On the latter, he said: “It could be long-term. He will get another MRI next week, and we will see. But for now, it doesn’t look that good.” Maybe more details about this situation will emerge later, but for now, he’ll be sidelined, due to that undisclosed condition.
