Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one of the many Manchester United defenders to get injured this season severely among the four who are now lost for the season. Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young (more on him here) comprise the rest of the list. They will all miss the run that includes:
Sunday at Arsenal, Thursday night at home versus Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final, the final two fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, and maybe the Europa Final May 24th in Stockholm.
Injuries to Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly opened up the opportunity for Timothy Fosu-Mensah to find some playing time, and when you’re as low on the depth chart as he is, it’s anybody’s guess if/when he’ll find his place in the first team again. Especially so when you’re coming back from a season ending injury.
Fosu-Mensah posted a positive, uplifting message to his supporters on his official Instagram page, and it caught the attention of The People’s Person, who write:
He has featured on ten occasions under Jose Mourinho this season but never managed to secure a place in the starting XI for a Premier League game.
The Dutchman took to Instagram to ensure supporters that, in spite of such a grim set-back, he will return stronger.
