Sir Alex Ferguson will soon begin lecturing to senior business executives from around the world as part of a new program at the most prestigious University in the United States: Harvard.
The most decorated manager in the history of Manchester United, and English football in general has been hired for a long term position at Harvard Business School.
Fergie’s hire was announced yesterday, the program will be entitled: “The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports.”
Anita Elberse, a professor of business administration, developed a case study in 2012 involving Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired after the 2012-13 season. Sir Alex Ferguson has participated in Elberse’s classes and called his time at Harvard a “stimulating experience.”
After serving 26 years as United boss, he Ferguson stepped down last spring, hand-picking David Moyes as his successor. You know how that’s worked out thus far for Moyes and United. Those struggles are well documented.
Sir Alex Ferguson, however, has had a charmed life in retirement. He serves as a club ambassador and in a celebrated coaching role with FIFA. He’s also released a hot-selling memoirs and partied and The Oscars. Sir Alex Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles and 2 Champions League titles during his days as United boss.
