When Paul Scholes was a player, he never really said much of anything. He wasn’t ever interesting with a microphone in front of his face. Now, as a pundit, he’s had plenty of strong opinions to share all season long. We’ve heard him double and triple down on the “boring” comments that he made earlier in the season.
Considered among the greatest midfielders of all time, the member of the famed Class of ’92 has offered scathing critiques of Van Gaal’s approach, so much so that some believe he’s trying to help oust LVG and get his mate Ryan Giggs the job.
That’s another story for another time, but for now Scholes listed out three players he thinks the club should obtain this summer transfer window. Paul Scholes also offered his take on how they might fit in at Old Trafford.
Speaking to United We Stand, Scholes said:
“I’d like Luka Modric. How old is he now? Might be a bit too old, but he’s a great player.”
“I like Raphael Varane. I said realistic and I’m picking Real Madrid players?”
“We probably need a centre-forward but there’s not too many of them about so I’m going to say I’d like us to bring Paul Pogba back.”
