Today brings us closure of the extremely long and ridiculously drawn out Paul Pogba transfer saga. His agent has reportedly locked up the agreement that will take the 23-year-old France midfielder from Juventus and bring him back to Manchester United. This morning, the Red Devils made it official- Pogba will undergo a medical with United and finalize the deal.

The club did so in clever fashion, including a creative hashtag #Pogback.

Yes, the summer of tedium, in regards to the Paul Pogba move, will soon come to an end.

Here’s the club official statement

Although Pogba himself followed this up with a rather cryptic Tweet. Apparently, he wanted to make the announcement himself, not the club. The Frenchman’s Twitter posting also indicates that he has something big to say, but he’s just not ready to do it right now.

We couldn’t include just the love/favorable reactions.

We had to include the backlash/negative reactions too.

United using #pogback as though paying £110m for a player they let go for peanuts is something of a triumph ?

So there’s literally some unfinished business off the pitch here. A few days ago, Manchester United Captain Wayne Rooney said there is also some “unfinished business” for Pogba, on the pitch too.

Rooney gave an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail and said that he remembers Pogba from his first go around with United, when he made just three Premier League appearances.

Rooney recalls one aspect in particular.

‘The bruises,’ Wayne Rooney told SportsMail.

‘He was one of those players who, when you trained against him, somehow he would just hurt you. A knee in your side, bump into you, I don’t think he meant to do it, but it just happened.

‘You didn’t even need to get into a tackle. Just go next to him and you’d find an elbow or some other sharp bit. So, if he comes, I’m looking forward to that again! But he had great ability, some of the things he could do, and he’s gone up a level since he left us.

‘I hope he is going to want to return to United and prove he’s a top-class player. If he is excited to play for us, we’ll be excited to have him back. I’m sure he’ll feel there is unfinished business, and it would be a very big statement by the club if they can make it happen.’
