Manchester United will be linked to every blue-chip Midfielder possible between now and the summer transfer window, and Freiburg’s highly-rated defensive midfielder Matthias Ginter is the latest one. These rumors will obviously persist and gain steam during the summer window no doubt. Whether true or not, they certainly are fun to speculate on and read about.
According to The Sun, David Moyes flew to Germany on Friday to check on Matthias Ginter, and it’s thought that he could be part of the answer for Moyes to solve United’s massive midfielder issues. Provided Moyes is still there to complete the turnaround job. The loss to Olympiacos could be the turning point, and not in a good way for Moyes. It seems like he may have lost the locker room now.
But that’s a discussion for another tie, Moyes focused on the £10m-rated center-half Matthias Ginter when Freiburg took on Hertha Berlin.
Obviously, missing out on Champions League, which is a very high likelihood at this point, would hurt the club financially, and be a tremendous hindrance on recruiting. Man United’s plan to combat that is to schedule high-profile friendlies to rake in the cash if they miss out on Europe next season. That was also reported in The Sun.
