Anything major going on with Manchester United these past couple years and chances are Juan Mata has something poignant to say about it. Wayne Rooney is the Captain, and Michael Carrick the Vice-Captain, but Mata is very much indeed the players’ true spokesman. The blog that he updates on occasion reflects this.
So if and when he moves on Old Trafford, that is a special void that the club would need to fill.
Right now though it is unclear where he fits moving forward. He has, therefore, instructed his advisors to seek assurance about his future, according to the Daily Mail.
Many think that it’s a strong possibility Juan Mata will be out the door now as The Special One takes over at the Theatre at Dreams. He didn’t fit in at Mourinho’s Chelsea, where he saw little playing time towards the end of his stay in Stamford Bridge. He was then the only 2014 winter buy of David Moyes, coming over for a then club record fee of £37.1 million.
He’s been decent and solid at United, but not spectacular. He’s had his fair share of moments, but hasn’t always found himself in the United first team.
