Manchester United are backed to win, by a healthy margin, so one should expect United to take this match by at least a couple goals. The Red Devils have taken all three points from both of their Premier League fixtures. They’ve shown some flaws in the first two matches no doubt, but they look as much the part of a league title winner as Chelsea or Manchester City or anybody else; at least thus far.
Said Mourinho of his club’s fast start: “It’s very early. You have teams with not many points now who will probably, in a couple of months, be in the top part of the table.
“You have teams in the top part of the table that probably will go down. It’s just the beginning.”
Looking across the way at Hull City, now currently led by former Old Trafford assistant boss Mike Phelan, the Tigers also acrrued the maximum six points from the first two games with Phelan serving as caretaker manager.
Jose Mourinho said: “I think the reality is that he was one of the most successful assistant managers in the country with invaluable experience.
“He has managed to organise the people, organise his team. I think he deserves the job.”
