Manchester United got off to a fantastic start in the Jose Mourinho era- a Community Shield triumph, and then three straight victories to open the Premier League season. The Red Devils, along with Chelsea and Manchester City, took all three points from all of their first three matches and looked to be in elite company.
Then it all came crashing down, as three straight losses occurred. Should Man United fans be worried? Yes, absolutely. They should be very worried. United Manager Jose Mourinho expressed his concern.
When asked if he was concerned, Mourinho replied: “I’m always concerned when we don’t get results we want. That’s an obvious situation.”

Mourinho gave a brilliant response when asked about a questionable play involving Miguel Britos and Anthony Martial. The tackle preluded Watford’s opening goal, and this Mourinho answer is absolutely priceless:
“When you come with that question it’s because you know. You don’t ask me about that if you think that nothing happened. The reason you asked the question is my answer.”
“The referee’s crucial mistakes are not in my control, there is nothing I can do about that. That is not under my control. But against Man City you know what happened in minute 55 [when Mourinho felt United should have had a penalty for a challenge by Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo on Rooney], today you know that happened for the first goal, against Feyenoord there was the offside goal. So we were punished by these mistakes and I can’t do anything about it.”
United are set to make Marcus Rashford the highest paid teenager in the world. Yes, even though he recently just signed a new deal, the Red Devils are looking to desperately avoid another Paul #Pogback situation in which they dramatically overpay to bring back a talent that they once let go for very little.
Manchester United are ready to hand Marcus Rashford a new contract – just four months after the teenage sensation signed a four-year deal. United have made it a priority to keep the 18-year-old out of the clutches of European giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
And that means handing Rashford, who hopes to start against Watford today, a bumper pay-rise on top of his current £20,000-a-week wages.
-United are essentially printing money over there at Old Trafford. Thus if you got it, flaunt it, and why not spend it like a drunken sailor.
-Finally, club legend Paul Scholes is once again harshly criticizing the club. It’s justifiable too as MUFC is certainly giving him plenty of material to work with; especially this week.
Scholes said: “The quality on the ball was as poor as you’ve seen from a Man United team, and that’s just the way it is at the minute. You’re not sure what you’re going to get.
“Rashford is probably the only shining light really and he didn’t have his best game today, but he looked a threat. I just think in possession Man United were really, really poor. Individually it wasn’t good enough. In possession it wasn’t good enough. So sloppy, giving the ball away all the time.”
