One of the better pieces of transfer business that Manchester United did this summer was the acquisition of Torino right-side defender Matteo Darmian. He’s really settled in at Old Trafford, making himself a consistent solid presence in the back line. United’s third major signing of the summer also made one of the most memorable plays of the season thus far.
His horse collar, choke hold, neck grabbing motion on Aston Villa’s Micah Richards should have resulted in a penalty kick for the Villans. He followed that up with a hilarious and brilliant face prank that psyched out Richards and benefited the Red Devils
While Darmian has had a great early first season with the Red Devils, he’s already begun planning for life after football. Even though that won’t be for a very long time as he’s just 25. According to today’s edition of the Daily Mirror:
“Matteo Darmian qualified as an interior designer at college and the Manchester United star reportedly wants to take it up as a career when he retires.”
His girlfriend, model Francesca Cormanni, is a qualified designer and she has reportedly been working with on a post-playing career with Darmian.
