HENRIK-MKHITARYAN

According to a report in Germany, Manchester United could very well be closing in on their second signing of the summer transfer window.  The first obviously being Villareal midfielder Eric Bailly. The agent of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mino Raiola, talked once again last week about closing a deal to move his client to Manchester United.

Now ESPN FC’s German football expert Raphael Honigstein reports that a BVB official has travelled to Manchester, with the move almost wrapped up.

The two clubs have agreed on a £26.3 million ($34.8 million, €24 million) fee for the Armenian National Team Captain, according to Sky sources.

Five days ago, Raiola said that Mkhitaryan’s “dream club” is United. (Here’s a link to more on the backstory there)

Raiola told Bild:

“Such an offer to join Manchester United might only come once in a lifetime for a player and nobody can guarantee us that the door will still be open for Micki next season. Manchester are Micki’s dream club, he wants to join them by any means.”

Maybe Mkhitaryan will be the next deal to get done this summer transfer window? Watch this space. Raiola also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic, widely regarded to be the next player that United signs this summer.

On another note, relating back to the Red Devils’ first signing,  Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano believes that Eric Bailly will be a success at Manchester United.

“I think he is a great player and he is a great person. He has a huge potential,” he told Goal.

“We’ll see what he can do at Manchester United, but I think he will be an important player in the future.”
