David Moyes on the Rio Ferdinand retirement reports: “I can only tell you what was written was a load of rubbish. Complete nonsense.”

This is in response to the reports that Rio Ferdinand would not go on Manchester United’s winter break to Dubai and would quit at the end of the season. His contract expires at the end of the season, and it’s thought he’s out the door at Old Trafford.

According to The Guardian:

It had been claimed Ferdinand, an unused substitute in Sunday’s Premier League draw with Fulham at Old Trafford, would miss the short warm weather training camp. In addition, it was suggested the club would confirm on Thursday that Ferdinand would be retiring at the end of the season. However, David Moyes said both reports were untrue.

Here’s Rio Ferdinand pictured above in his Halloween costume. Ferdinand has been linked to both the L.A. Galaxy and Chicago Fire of the MLS in America. However, there’s also been speculation that he could play in other countries, or maybe even go into broadcasting.  Ferdinand has only made one appearance for United in the past two months even in a situation where many thought he should have played, where injury substitutions would have opened the door for him.

Ferdinand said on Twitter regarding the story: “Must be another slow news day.”

True. ever since the January transfer window closed it has been slow news days regarding United and the Premier League, David Moyes knows that, Rio knows that, we in the news business know that.
