Javier Hernandez still has a future at Old Trafford. Over the course of the summer Chicharito has been linked with moves to West Ham, West Brom, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton, a couple of Serie A sides (it was rumored that Torino had jumped into the derby yesterday) and even the MLS (Chicharito is reported to have turned down offers from both L.A. Galaxy and Orlando City).
However, Manchester United have no plans to sell their Mexico striker. Manager Louis van Gaal apparently wants to retain the forward as the back-up to Wayne Rooney.
And that makes sense given that Chicharito is the only striker on the Red Devils roster not named Wayne Rooney. Van Gaal said in his press conference previewing Friday night’s road fixture at Aston Villa (video of that here at this link)
“The striker is Wayne Rooney and the second striker is Chicharito and he knows that.”
