Liverpool could join Manchester City in the ranks of giant English clubs that possibly violated the Financial Fair Play by-laws that govern European football. Liverpool’s losses over the past two seasons exceed the FFP limit and a UEFA inquiry is ongoing.
According to The Times of London, with hat tip to Paper Chase, “Liverpool could have nearly £7 million of Champions League money withheld as UEFA looks into whether the Anfield club breached Financial Fair Play rules.”
Other outlets place the potential financial hit at £6.8 million. Now comes a new story from the Daily Mail today:
“Liverpool are being investigated by UEFA for possible breaches of financial fair play rules because their accounts show a £49.8million loss for the 2012-13 season.:
