G’day mate! Throw another shrimp on the barbie because Liverpool FC is heading to Australia this summer. Liverpool will be playing a friendly a week and change after the season ends, in order to celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary, in a match Down Under.
Liverpool was founded on June 3rd, 1892. The Reds will take on Sydney F.C. on May 24th, so on a date about as close as they can reasonably get to the 125th anniversary.
LFC has an incredible following in one the nation-continent (one of just two on the entire globe).
“Liverpool have more than 2.3 million followers in Australia and the strength of their support has never been more evident than during the club’s previous visits: the incredible moment in Melbourne in 2013 when 95,000 fans sang ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, or in Brisbane and Adelaide when fans came out in their thousands to show their support.”
If you’re going to Australia, Liverpool supporters, have a good time!
