Chelsea FC still Premier League Title Favorites despite transfer window

chelsea transfer rumors

The summer transfer window is just getting warmed up, but already there’s been a ton of activity. Raheem Sterling has moved from Liverpool to Manchester City. Manchester United bought four new key players. Petr Cech left Chelsea for Arsenal. The Blues replaced him with Asmir Begovic from Stoke City.

Liverpool have spent some money buying six new players; including a couple big names.

So with all the comings and goings, who’s still projected to be the top dog once the season kicks off 25 days from now?

According to bet365.com, here are your Premier League title odds:

Chelsea 6-4

Manchester City 11-4

Arsenal 9-2

Manchester United 5-1

So, yes, Chelsea is still the favorite; by significant odds. Actually, the top four title contenders are in the same exact order that they finished last season. So the more things change; the more they stay the same.

Stamford Bridge are certainly not done improving their team this summer though. The latest rumblings pertain to Barcelona Winger Pedro. “It’s complicated” to say the least.

Pedro just signed a new contract extension in June, and has a $170,000,000 buy-out clause. Still, Chelsea are interested and the player himself says that things are unsettled.
