It’s another international break and thus, kind of a slow time when it comes to big headlines, but there’s still a whole lot of important Arsenal FC news items out there. Here are links to some of the more relevant United news stories currently circulating on the internet.
-For the seventh year in a row, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was named Armenia’s Footballer of the Year. Here’s the national team captain and Arsenal winger posing with his trophy in a snap on his official Instagram account.

“It is a great honour because it means you’ve achieved something,” the official Arsenal club website quotes Mkhitaryan.
“You’ve accomplished something important for the country and your followers. I am very happy to be the children’s hero.”
–Jack Wilshere faces a lot of uncertainty with his career, both in the short and long term. First with the short term, via The Telegraph. The injury that kept him out of England’s 1-0 friendly victory over Netherlands tonight “has cast serious doubt over his chances of going to the World Cup this summer, Gareth Southgate has suggested.”
Then you have the longer term question- it appears Wilshere may not see his Arsenal contract extended, due to a wage bill increase. The Sun writes:
The Gunners are struggling to keep control of a soaring wage bill which will rise ten per cent this financial year. And it is Wilshere who is paying the price after being told he must take a 25 per cent pay cut if he wants to stay at the Emirates.”
Hector Bellerin’s agent, Albert Botines, says he hasn’t received any real offers for his client yet. However, if Juventus made an approach for the defender, he would be open to it, reports Football.London.
“There’s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out,” he said. (quotes via Daily Mirror)
“He’s happy, he’s recently renewed and he’s playing consistently. It’s true that every player always wants to grow, but right now it’s difficult [to see him leaving].
“If the Azzurri were interested in some of my clients I would listen, because – just like Juventus – Napoli are not only a great team in Italy but also now in Europe.”
