Kanye West to Entertainment What Skip Bayless is to Sports

Kanye West produced two of the five greatest rap albums of all time, in my opinion. Then he did a World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment style heel turn and became a cartoonish parody. When West became a villain/parody of a human being, right around the time he infamously interrupted Taylor Swift, his music’s value decreased.

Trying to enjoy a Kanye West song now is like watching Blake Griffin’s commercials- you can’t listen to anything they have to say anymore about anything because you know what’s inside their head.

Blake Griffin is a Creationist and once you know that, once you’re aware that he believes the Earth is only 6,000 years old, nothing else he has to say about anything else matters. West may put out some good music still here and there, but it doesn’t matter as much when you consider what kind of human being he’s turned into.

But hey, sub-tweeting him is fun!!

I penned a piece on Kanye West and his life of incessantly trolling America for Bold Global. I can’t remember the last time I had as much fun writing anything as I had writing this.

An excerpt is below:

Kanye West has become to music and popular culture what Donald Trump is to politics, Ann Coulter is to current events what Skip Bayless is to sports.

These four individuals are extremely unique to their fields because they adopt such extreme, often morally and intellectually indefensible positions.

Only West (or Coulter, Trump, and Bayless for that matter) can honestly say whether or not they hold such egregious beliefs deep within their hearts.

By the way Ye’s “I’m the greatest of all time” bit is actually rooted in sports; sort of. I guess, World Wrestling Federation is kind of a sport. Do you remember the Honky Tonk Man from the late 1980s/early 1990s? His catch-phrase was “I’m the greatest of all time” just like West.

I tried doing this bit myself on Twitter today, but it didn’t work. No one responded, most importantly, Yeezy himself did not, unfortunately.

I have to give West some credit though. Like I said, he made two of the top five greatest rap albums

1. 2pac “All Eyes on Me”

2. Dr Dre “The Chronic”

3. Kanye West “College Dropout”

4. Ma$e “Harlem World”

5. Kanye West “Late Registration”
