The Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu is not officially done at LSU yet, but he’s most likely finished in Baton Rouge. So in order to play this year, he has to go the FCS route, no more FBS. And once you go down a level, you can’t come back up, so Mathieu will be locked in to the new FCS school for the rest of the college football career.
According to ESPN via the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the decision will come tomorrow
The Honey Badger will pick his new school after he’s done sorting out the personal issues that led to his dismissal from the LSU Tigers. He isn’t the first big school star to go this route. Janoris Jenkins from Florida and Ray Ray Armstrong from Miami had character issues, and had to go the FCS route to keep playing.
