Aaron Craft is known for his “hustle.” Or his “grit,” “grittiness,” “scrappiness,” “blue-collar mentality,” being a “lunch pail guy,” “heart and determination,” and “playing the game the right way.” Yes, I just listed a bunch of words almost all college basketball announcers use when they mean to say “white.” Yes, Aaron Craft is Caucasian. Therefore, you will hear Aaron Craft described with all of these Caucasian codewords.
That’s not to say that Aaron Craft doesn’t hustle or play hard. He truly does. It’s just that Aaron Craft is also used to further promote hoops stereotypes. Anyways, Aaron Craft gets a little too grindy and hustles a bit too hard in this clip below
Boom! Well, in the end the Ohio State cheerleader was fine. As was Aaron Craft. But not the Buckeyes though. Entering the week undefeated and ranked #3 in the nation, they lost twice- at #5 Michigan State in overtime and again at home to #23 Iowa.
