A Notre Dame football player faces a misdemeanor marijuana charge after being arrested on the Indiana Toll road over the weekend. Indiana State Police arrested 21 year old Michael Ragone of Laurel Springs, New Jersey, Saturday morning in LaGrange County.
Ragone is a bench player, and probably doesn’t figure to get much playing time this fall. But according to Fox 28 in Indiana
Ragone was booked into the LaGrange County Jail at 9:52 Saturday morning on the marijuana charge. He posted bond and was out of jail by 12:35 that afternoon.
A passenger in the car, 21 year old Krystin Olenski of Pennsauken, New Jersey, was also arrested on a charge of marijuana possession.
The misdemeanor charges mean possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Ragone is a 6’4″ , 250 pound senior tight end for the Fighting Irish football team. He played sparingly last season.
Notre Dame Director of Football Media Relations Brian Hardin told FOX28.com, “Coach Kelly is aware of the situation and feels it is a serious matter. He has spoken with Mike but any team-related action that may be forthcoming would be handled internally.”
