OSU’s Jared Sullinger declaring for NBA Draft

A news conference will be held in a manner of moments where Ohio State star Jared Sullinger will announce that he is leaving Columbus to enter the NBA Draft. Multiple sources are reporting this.

The Buckeyes big man put up some big numbers during his two years in scarlet and grey, and also developed a reputation for flopping, and whining to the officials. He also developed a reputation, chiefly among rival fans, for getting “star calls” treatment. Therefore, the idea of him flopping and complaining about officiating, all the while allegedly receiving preferential calls himself, made him one of the most hated players in the Big Ten

In terms of skill sets, it’s rare to see a guy lose weight and get slower. Sullinger came to college with good size, especially for a freshman, but didn’t get any quicker after dropping any weight this year. Also, his draft stock may have peaked after freshmen year. He’s in that top #5-#10 overall pick area right now, and he was right there or higher a year ago at this time.

He’s a dangerous scorer, rebounder, defender, but hasn’t shown that he fits in perfectly at the four at the next level yet. Sullinger has all the talent in the world, but his stock may slide because of 1.) he had some bad games on the brightest stage 2.) might not have a true position yet.

Of course, if he works hard enough at the combine, private workouts, he can make scouts forget about that stuff.
