“I felt ashamed when I found out but these supporters do not represent the club,” said Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho today.

This is of course in regards to the video of Chelsea FC supporters prohibiting a black man from entering a Paris subway train and then singing “we’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it” (video available here).

Chelsea say they are “appalled” and have apologized to the victim.

The club has invited the black man abused by its supporters at a French metro station before a Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain this week to its London stadium for the return leg.

The offer came as Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho discussed the Paris incident for the first time, saying Friday:
“I feel ashamed with being connected with these sad things.”

In other Mourinho news, The Sun has a story today claiming that Chelsea are ready to open talks with Jose Mourinho about a new long-term contract. The Times of London has a story on this breaking development as well, claiming that Jose Mourinho is expected to sign a new contract with Chelsea in the summer.

Chelsea are eager to secure his long-term future by offering him a new four-year package. The Special One has led the Blues to the top of the Premier League table this season. They’ve been in first place wire to wire and they have maintained a very commanding lead most of the season.

It seems like Jose Mourinho and Chelsea are a perfect fit for each other, as Real Madrid was not. There’s a story today in the BBC Sport page about how Mourinho couldn’t cope with Los Blancos pressure.

The Chelsea boss managed Real from 2010-13, winning La Liga in 2012 and the Copa del Rey in 2011, before leaving for Stamford Bridge.

“To be a manager of Real Madrid is really, really difficult,” Calderon told BBC World Service. “See what happened to Mourinho.

“He is someone who is used to coping with pressure and he couldn’t.”
