Jeff George isn’t Jay Cutler; and Jay Cutler will not be Jeff George

By

Jeff George had a distinguished college football career with the Illini; transferring to Champaign from Purdue, and that's something you never see today, transfers within the same conference. It was also fortuitous, as Jeff George signed with 7 different teams during his 13 year career. Like Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, he's also from the Hoosier state. George was drafted #1 … [Read more...] about Jeff George isn’t Jay Cutler; and Jay Cutler will not be Jeff George

Comparing Jay Cutler to Jeff George is a stale bit

By

There’s this idea floating amongst the NFL Punditocracy that Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler could be this generation’s answer to Jeff George. It’s an interesting comparison, as Jeff George was signed by the Bears in 2004. There are some statistical similarities. Jay Cutler has a much better record as a starter, but the passing stats are close. Both Rich Gannon and Boomer Esiason … [Read more...] about Comparing Jay Cutler to Jeff George is a stale bit

The Chicago Bears 2014 season feels like root canal

By

The Chicago Bears have been a mix of bad, interesting and downright painful to watch this season. Those feelings peak on Sunday, last through the following days and bleed into the next week’s matchup. There is no break from the pain and suffering; and no positive outlook. That is exactly how I feel watching the Chicago Bears. It is also how I feel dealing with my lower … [Read more...] about The Chicago Bears 2014 season feels like root canal

Chicago Bears All-22: Rookie DT’s

By

The Chicago Bears drafted rookie defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton to help add youth to an aging defensive line. Ferguson is more of a running game clogger and Sutton a pass rush specialist. Against the New York Jets this past Monday, Sutton earned extended snaps with the injury to Jeremiah Ratliff and showed a lot of promise. In limited snaps, Ferguson showed his … [Read more...] about Chicago Bears All-22: Rookie DT’s

Special teams players wait a long time. It’s almost like in baseball where relievers struggle to get into the Hall of Fame. It’s hard and you saw Ray Guy waited 23 years. Everybody slights special … [Read more...] about Falcons WR/RS Devin Hester a Hall of Famer?

This despite the fact that both Houston and Kaepernick said that he did not. This was reported this morning on Fox NFL Sunday. … [Read more...] about Colin Kaepernick allegedly N-bombed Bears DE Lamar Houston

Jay Cutler to showcase his personality Friday night

By

Jay Cutler isn't exactly known for being an entertaining character with a whole lot of charisma. He doesn't exactly "win the press conference" all that often. It explains why he doesn't have a ton of endorsements and likely doesn't have a future in broadcasting once his playing days are done. However, with his new contract, neither nor his kids and grand kids will ever have to … [Read more...] about Jay Cutler to showcase his personality Friday night
