The University of Michigan and Virginia Tech will face off in college football during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The Wolverines will host the Hokies on Sept. 19, 2020, at Michigan Stadium and will travel to Blacksburg, Va., on Sept. 11, 2021.

The two programs have met just once previously. The lone prior matchup came on Jan. 3, 2012, when Michigan defeated Virginia Tech, 23-20, in overtime, in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, La.

Michigan continues to add to its future schedules. The Wolverines recently announced a Sept. 19, 2017 matchup at the Big House with Cincinnati and a home-and-home series with Arkansas slated to open the 2018-19 seasons. Michigan will host old friend Bret Bielema and Arkansas at Michigan Stadium on Sept. 1, 2018, with a return trip to Fayetteville, Ark., scheduled for Aug. 31, 2019. Provided the former Wisconsin Badgers coach is still leading the Razorbacks by that time.
