I guess the whole apology/clarification thing didn’t work out so well. You remember ESPN First Take guest/host/analyst (although no analysis gets done on that show) Rob Parker, who made the incendiary comments that Robert Griffin III was a “cornball brother” because he has a white fiance and possible Republican tendencies. Parker got canned a few weeks ago, “Rob Parker’s contract expired at year end. Evaluating our needs and his work, including his recent RGIII comments, we decided not to renew,” an ESPN spokesman said in a written statement.
Now if the WWL leader can just do the same with Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless, Jemele Hill, Chris Berman, Dick Vitale etc. Then they’d really have an upgrade of on-air talent.
So where did Parker land?
Today, TheShadowLeague.com announced that Parker has been added to its roster. Parker’s first column for the newly unveiled website will be published Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. Quite a large step down huh?
