Manchester Derby Talk Dominated by Marouane Fellaini Head-butting of Sergio Aguero

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini commonly employs tactics and methods that make him reviled by many in the global football community. He’s a player who’s probably just about as polarizing as Diego Costa or Luis Suarez.

In late 2015, former official Howard Webb called Fellaini “a thug” after United’s 1-1 draw with arch-rivals Liverpool. The big Belgian had not one but two more elbowing incidents in that contest. Fellaini escaped punishment over his entanglement with LFC’s Emre Can in that one, but later in the season, he got hit with a three match ban for his violent conduct with Leicester City defender Robert Huth.

Close to a year later, it appears Fellaini will be given another three match suspension. It will be well deserved too. Take a look at his head butt of Man City forward Sergio Aguero in today’s goalless Manchester Derby.

EVIDENCE: both players equally went in to head each other correct?

Mourinho: "it was a red card because it was Marouane Fellaini."

United Manager Jose Mourinho commented on the Fellaini head butt in his postgame interview (video below)

“I didn’t watch it, I spoke with him and he feels that it’s a red card because he is Marouane Fellaini.”
