Alex Morgan the face of the franchise that is the U.S. Women’s National Team has seen her sport take off this summer. The whole nation rejoiced as the USWNT won their first World Cup since 1999. And while Americans are truly embracing the international game here at home, the domestic leagues still have some work to do.
The National Women’s Soccer League is getting a big popularity boost from the USWNT triumph, but it’s still a very young league with small resources. There’s a lot less money involved in it than you’ll find in other pro sports leagues. Therefore, the hotels just aren’t as nice.
Alex Morgan was a top ten nationally trending term in the United States Tuesday night due to the reports of her ripping the NWSL over the state of the team hotel in Kansas City
“.@NWSL there’s no other way to address continuing problems. Hotels have been unacceptable. For ex. :Bed bugs/mold @ Adams Mark Hotel in KC,” Alex Morgan tweeted and then deleted.
Her Portland Thorns Teammate Christine Sinclair also joined in lighting the place up on social media.
“WARNING to @NWSL teams and anyone staying at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Kansas City, MO #bedbugs #notok,” Sinclair Tweeted.
Let that be a lesson to you, Portland Thorns and NWSL, Alex Morgan, the face of the sport, has spoken, and she is angry.
