Manchester United’s final fixture of the Premier League season, against AFC Bournemouth was cancelled today due to a security concern. A “suspicious package” found in the northwest quadrant of Old Trafford led to the evacuation of two main stands: the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and the Stretford End about 45 minutes before kickoff.

Initially, fans inside the other areas of Old Trafford were allowed to remain inside the venue.

“Those inside OT are asked to remain seated while the forecourt is cleared of fans already evacuated from the stadium,” the club said. Police with sniffer dogs were seen inside Old Trafford after the announcement was made.
Soon afterward, the entire venue was cleared. As a ticket holder in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand today, I took some photos of the Old Trafford evacuation and posted then on Twitter. Have a look below:

Aside from the precarious situation at Old Trafford, the rest of the Premier League schedule went ahead as planned.
