Manchester United Assistant Manager Ryan Giggs admits that missing out on UEFA Champions League is painful for him. Unfortunately for Giggs, there could be more hurt in store as United’s chances of finishingin the top four in the Premier League are quite bleak.

Unless they truly bring it tonight versus Liverpool in the second leg of their Europa League tie, they face very long odds of getting back into European Cup that way too.

Speaking ahead of the match tonight, he said: “It hurts that we are not in it, of course. We had a year out of the Champions League and we missed it. We do miss it [now]. You watch it on TV and you wish you were involved.” CC The Times

“It’s the elite competition. As a footballer you want challenges and as coaching staff you want to be challenging the best coaches in the world.”

Ryan Giggs and company face a tough task towards finishing in the top four. They’re only four points behind with nine matches to play, but none of the top four appear to be dropping points enough to create an opening for the Red Devils. Also, United have now fallen to sixth place behind West Ham United.
