Malcolm Glazer, owner of Manchester United, the world’s most popular and well known sports team passed away at the age of 85. He had also owned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of for almost two decades.
According to the Buccaneers, who made the announcement of Malcolm Glazer’s death, the NFL team will remain in the family, with Malcolm Glazer’s wife, Linda, and Glazer’s six children keeping their ownership of the club. Three of Glazer’s sons — Bryan, Edward and Joel — are co-chairmen of the team.
In addition to his wife and children, Glazer is survived by 14 grandchildren.
It is understood Glazer’s death will not have any significant effect on the ownership of the Barclays Premier League club, with the family retaining a 90 per cent share.
A spokesperson for the Old Trafford outfit said regarding the passing of Malcolm Glazer: “The thoughts of everyone at United are with the family tonight.”
