At this point, Manchester United are linked to pretty much every midfielder that’s serviceable. And quite a few that aren’t. Top of the table Arsenal are set to battle Manchester United for the rights to Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio in the January transfer window, according to reports.
And according to Il Sussidiario, both sides have earmarked Marchisio as the man to make the difference in the second half of the season.
According to Metro, who also cited the report in Il Sussidiario
Marchisio has made 15 appearances for Juventus this season, but the 27-year-old’s future with the Old Lady seems uncertain, following the contract extension handed to Arturo Vidal, along with those expected to be signed by Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo.
We’re getting closer and closer to the January transfer window and it will be interesting to see what Manchester United does; especially when you consider how uninspiring and unexciting the last transfer window was. David Moyes will have to do something and it will have to be something significant to get the Red Devils back within striking distance of the all important top four slots.
