The Chicago Bears are last in the NFL in run defense surrendering 157 yards per game. It is the worst run defense for the Chicago Bears since the 1950s. This D has given up 2,041 yards rushing this season, through 13 games, to “earn” that 32nd ranking.
That equals 1.16 miles.
When you put it that way, it really doesn’t like that much does it? If you say “the Chicago Bears have given up 20 football field of rush yardage it sounds like a lot more doesn’t it? Even though it’s the same exact number.
That distance will get you from Soldier Field to Columbia College on Michigan Avenue. Which again doesn’t sound that far, does it? Truth is, this Chicago Bears defense is a shell of what it could be without Lance Briggs. Especially the run defense. Remember when Briggs was only supposed to be out 4-6 weeks? And on his television show on CSN Chicago that so few people watch (well some people watch it, it’s ratings are about equivalent to the emergency test signal) he was floating the idea of even coming back after 3 weeks.
So what happened? He’s working out. But he’s not practicing. I mean even LMFAO works out, as their song tells you, but when is Briggs going to come back and save this Chicago Bears run defense?
